On Sale Now...Band Banquet Tickets!
Attendance is required for all Tigerettes currently enrolled in 2nd & 4th block band classes. Parents are welcomed--no siblings. Cost is $10 per person. (Beginning band students do not participate) See Mr. Henson or Mr. Adams starting next Monday to purchase your tickets.
April 26...Band Spring Concert
Required for all Beg, Int, HS, WG, and IDL members!!
April 27-May 1...Band Spring Trip to Orlando!!!!!!!
May 7...Band Banquet @ Oak Grove 1st Baptist Family Life Center...attendance required! $10 per person. Year end review of band activities, recognition of Seniors, and presentation of fall leaders and fall show information!!
May 16-20...Dance, Flag, & Weapons Clinic during band class. Attendance is required!!!! Unexcused absences will result in suspension from fall performance. You will need shorts, T-shirt, and tennis shoes in your new mesh bag to change into each day. Bring water. Equipment at home will need to be brought back to school for this week.
Summer Break = 7 weeks = June 3rd - July 22nd....schedule all family vacations during this time!! Just fyi...kids will be out of school prob a lil earlier, just as soon as exams are finished...will get you those dates when we get them in hand.
July 25- 29...Summer Band Camp 8-4...Attendance required both weeks & $100 fee due!
Aug 1-5...Summer Band Camp 8-4...More info TBA in July band letter!!
Aug 4 - 7 Annual Guard Beach Trip...come with us to enjoy great fun, food, and fellowship!! More info coming in May 2011 about this OPTIONAL activity.
August 9 & 11...Tuesday & Thursday Night Practices 5 to 8 p.m.
August 15...School Starts!!
Weekly Required Afterschool Rehearsal Fall Schedule....please read the following...
Tigerettes must be present the entire school day to practice and/or perform.
This means every absence, check-in, or check-out on these days will require a verifiable doctor or dentist excuse placed on file....
Tuesdays 6-9 p.m.
Thursdays 3-4 p.m. (sometimes til 5)
Fridays Pep Rallies & Games
Saturdays Fundraiser events, JefCoEd Jamboree, & 3 Band Contests TBA
Saturdays in September & October should be marked/held as potential band event days...we will have 3 contests & you may have college concession work events scheduled. You will be very busy during September and October...please remember...of course ALL performance events and work events scheduled are required!!
Schedule Changes...be reminded that any student requesting a schedule change out of band for 1st or 2nd semester next year automatically removes themselves as a member of the band program & from their position as a Tigerette...no exceptions...NO BAND = NOT A Tigerette!!
Off Season Grades...you must maintain an overall 70% average each grading period.
Your parents will be notified in writing if there is a problem with grades. Members on “Grade Probation” will be dismissed from the squad if they do not improve and maintain an overall 70%.
Off Season Conduct...remember that you are expected to maintain Satisfactory conduct.
Stay out of the office!! Follow the dress code, do not be tardy, do not skip class, do not cheat, be respectful, keep your lips (and everything else) to yourself, be a kind-sweet-cooperative young lady at school, in your social life, and at home!!! Members on “Behavior Probation” will be dismissed at the time of their next suspension or detention.
Off Season Hair...you agreed to maintain a shoulder length hairstyle. While we feel sure that some of you may need a good trim as the year ends, do not think for a second that a chin length hairstyle is okay...no matter your grade level we view this as defiance...hair must be shoulder length or longer when prepared for performance with no bangs...very simply stated, it is not what you agreed to do when you tried out last January so just don’t do it!!!
HAIR COLOR = NATURAL!!! A few of you have gone to far...either too dark or too white...make sure this is corrected before you come back for summer band camp. COLOR CHANGE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED DURING THE MARCHING OR WINTER SEASON. Please have real hairdressers do highlighting/lowlighting/coloring and have them work off your natural hair color...the real color of your hair is the color growing out of your head at the root!!! Again, NO BANGS!
Off Season Weight...remember that extra pounds weaken your ability to move & perform with ease. Please eat sensibly & stay in shape...uniform/costume alterations are paid for by parents.
Off Season Skills...please take an honest look at your skills in all areas and work to improve in the off season. Flags, weapons, and body!! Regardless of grade and past experience...you’re not guaranteed a specific performance spot on the field next fall...gotta work to earn it!!!
Band letters with camp details and other important info will be mailed just after July 4th...watch your mailbox...if you don’t get Tigs should call a Captain to get the info!

Please make a habit of checking our blog...even during summer!! If you need to know something you should be able to find it there. Tigerettes are responsible for every
item posted. The blog has replaced notes sent home that parents never saw. It is a quicker and more effective way for us to get you the info you need. The Guard blog may contain different info than the Band blog...Guard members always follow instructions found on the Guard blog!!
