Please take care of your health so we have everyone in place. We are excited about the Band Jamboree and hope you are too!!!

Let’s focus & work hard this week to eliminate mental errors & performance breaks. We can only do that by being at practice every day, knowing the work, and performing full out. We know that mistakes made during performance are not intentional, but they can be the result of lazy practice habits. If you feel scared before a performance it’s because you haven't prepared yourself enough prior to the event. You should be excited to step on the field...not scared. We are human and we perform like we practice, so let’s please work hard this week and try very hard to be the best we can be at Jamboree!!

Game 5 & Jamboree!!

The show was better than ever last Friday night...so excited about the contest season ahead.

Weather could be an issue this week please check the blog often for updates!!

Re: Hair Braiding

As you saw Friday night we had to tweak the look of the braiding on the bus. The hair just did not do justice to the beauty of the girls...anything that hinders how they look has to go...lol. So...

All the girls will need a braided hair headband that is the exact color match to their hair. Rebecca and I searched the area on foot Saturday looking for options. These type accessories could not be swapped or returned so our plan to buy every color, match the girls, and purchase them for you all would not work.

Here are the 3 options for making a 1/2 inch braided hair headband happen this week...and it must happen!

1. If your hair is long enough braid your own hair into the headband style. We will teach this style in class on Monday.

2. If your hair is too short to braid, go to any Sally's or Sephora and see if they have a premade braided hair headband that matches your hair color EXACTLY. Sally's has some that are "Dancing with the Stars" brand, and Sephora carries a brand in their own name. Price range about $10. (Claires and other stores of that type may have what you need...you are welcomed to try there too)

3. If your hair is too short to braid and the stores do not have a premade braided hair headband that matches your hair color exactly, Sallys or similar beauty stores have packs of hair in different lengths that are used for extensions or weaving. Find a pack that matches your EXACT HAIR COLOR and make your own braid. Price range $5 and up...you would need the pack of hair & small hair color elastics to secure the ends.

Please make sure you have hair color bobby pins of your own!!

Sorry for any "fluster" this adds to your week, but we got to have the girls looking perfect next weekend!!

Thanks!!

Game Week 4!!!

We have begun to see girls with sinus infections, strep, flu, sprained ankles, and shin splints. Please remember that we always follow doctor's instructions. Parents please help us by seeing that your daughter stays well hydrated and that she is getting plenty of rest at night. Girls please help us by not drinking or eating after each other, by staying hydrated, by getting enough sleep, and also by not participating in activities that could cause an injury. If you are a girl who has had previous problems with sprains/strains please make sure you are wearing proper support items at all practices and performances.

All must note as well that when the doctor says "no participation" that means the girl dresses for practice or performance but "sits out"...girls get back in quicker if they watch & know what is going on. If the doctor says "no school" that means she can't attend band events/games/contests at all. Performance and/or travel on Fridays and Saturdays will be based on ability to practice full out, and ability to learn the work missed while sick or injured. Thanks in advance for doing your part to stay healthy so we can have everyone on the field in the coming weeks.

Girls are doing a great job thus far!! We are VERY proud of the progress and look forward to the continued growth of the show. Hope to have the full skeleton of our program on the field Friday night. We also appreciate the wonderful support provided by our Guard Parents...we doubt any other Guard in the world has such a great group of parents to work with...thank you so very much for all you do!!!

THURSDAY THIS WEEK TIGERETTES WERE GIVEN 4 Band Jamboree tickets each to sell. The tickets are $5 each...CASH ONLY. Tigs must sell all 4 to family, friends, neighbors, church folks, etc. $CASH OR UNSOLD TICKETS must be turned in to Donna or Rebecca on or before NEXT TUESDAY. The money raised from this fundraiser will be used to pay for charter buses to our first BOA event. and last but not least...
this was emailed to everyone Saturday night...

Great job last night...we will update the blog for the week by Monday morning!!

For now...we think we need to HANDWASH and drip dry the green costume, after two wears and all the dust last night it's prob a good idea. We suggest just a hint of either laundry or dishwashing detergent...swished around in COLD water just trying to lightly rub any trouble spots. Rinse with COLD water...then take a large clean towel and roll the costume in it like a large sweet roll...haha...that should get excess water out and then you should be able to hang on a hanger and allow it to drip dry over the bathtub or a towel on the floor to catch drips. May want to hang folded over at the waist like a pair of men's pants to avoid stretching out the top straps.

Ballet shoes need to be "CLAPPED" free of as much dust as possible and then wiped with a cold wet cloth. If you need to order a new pair or two for the season we will get you the web address and style number when we get back to school next week. Please don't forget as well that the girls all really need inserts for comfort.

We will wear RED next Friday against Corner...not gonna let CHS see the real deal til we show off at the band jamboree the last Saturday of the this month...hehehe.

Hope this helps and that you all enjoy your long weekend. Thanks!!
